Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water in Cave Creek

If you are hauling bottled water home or wiping white spots off every glass, an under-sink reverse osmosis system can fix that at the tap. We test your water first, explain what RO will and won't remove, and give you one installed price.

What Reverse Osmosis Does and When It Fits

Reverse osmosis forces your water across a membrane so tight that most minerals, salts, lead and many trace contaminants get left behind on the other side. Ahead of the membrane, a sediment filter and a carbon filter take out grit and chlorine, which helps the membrane last. The finished water waits in a small tank or flows straight to its own faucet at your kitchen sink.

RO is a drinking and cooking water system, not a whole-house one. It treats the water you drink, cook with and put in coffee, ice and baby formula. If your concern is chlorine in the shower or scale on every fixture, our whole-home filtration or water softeners page is the better place to start, and some homes do best with both.

Here is the short version: if you want great-tasting water to drink and you want fewer unknowns in it, RO is usually the right call. We will tell you plainly if a simpler filter would do the job.

What Comes With Your RO Install

A system that fits your results

Your water test and how much drinking water your household goes through decide the stage count and whether we use a tank or tankless design.

A dedicated faucet

RO water flows from a small faucet of its own beside your regular one. An unused sink hole gets used if you have one; otherwise we drill a new one.

A correct drain hookup

The membrane sends a little rinse water down the drain. We attach it with a drain saddle and air gap so dirty water can't siphon back into the clean line.

Fridge and ice maker line if you want it

We can run RO water to your refrigerator dispenser or ice maker, putting an end to cloudy, chalky ice.

Checks before we go

We flush the new cartridges and inspect each fitting for drips. Then we show you the shutoff valve and walk through a filter change so you know how it's done.

When Reverse Osmosis Makes Sense

Bottled water cases keep piling up
If you are stacking cases in the garage every week, a dedicated RO faucet usually gives you water you enjoy just as much, with no lugging.
Spots and scale on glasses and kettles
White rings and crusty kettles point to dissolved minerals. Many Cave Creek homes see this, and RO strips those minerals out of your drinking water.
Water tastes salty, flat or like a pool
Mineral or chlorine taste is one of the most common reasons people call us. Carbon prefilters handle chlorine and the membrane handles the rest.
Cloudy ice and chalky coffee makers
Minerals freeze into cloudy cubes and build up inside coffee makers. RO water keeps both clearer and cleaner.
Older plumbing or a lead question
Older pipes and fittings can add metals your water never had at the source. RO is a strong barrier for lead at the drinking tap.
Your TDS number came back high
Total dissolved solids is a measure of everything mixed into your water. When that reading is high, RO is the most direct way to lower it in the glass you actually drink from.

What Happens During an RO Install

  1. 1

    Give us a call

Let us know what you dislike about your water. We can quote an installed system, book a free water test with zero obligation, or do both.

  2. 2

    Testing and a recommendation

We measure hardness, dissolved solids, chlorine and pressure at your faucet, then explain the results and the system that suits them in everyday language.

  3. 3

    The install

Our partner plumber turns off the cold line, sets the system under your sink, fits the faucet and drain connection, and connects a fridge line if you want one. Most jobs take a few hours, and your kitchen stays covered and clean.

  4. 4

    Flush, test and walkthrough

We start the system, look for leaks, test the treated water and show you how to change filters before heading out.

What Changes the Cost of an RO System

Reverse osmosis has no one-size price, since every kitchen and water supply is different. Installation is included with our water treatment systems, so the phone price covers equipment and install together. Here is what shifts it.

Tank or tankless
Systems with a storage tank cost less to start. Tankless models save cabinet space and flow faster, at a higher price.
How many filter stages
A basic system includes prefilters, a membrane and a polishing filter. A remineralization stage returns some calcium and magnesium for flavor and raises the cost.
Countertop and sink material
A faucet hole in stainless steel or laminate goes quickly. Granite and quartz need more time and special tools.
Your water pressure
A membrane needs steady pressure to do its job. If your test shows low pressure, a small booster pump keeps water coming, and that part raises the total.
Extra lines to a fridge, ice maker or second tap
Each extra hookup takes more tubing, more fittings and more install time, so each adds a bit to the price.

Common Reverse Osmosis Questions

Does reverse osmosis waste a lot of water?
Some water flushes the membrane and goes down the drain. Current systems send far less to the drain than older ones, and a tank system with an automatic shutoff valve stops making water once the tank is full. We include the rinse ratio with every system we quote.
Does RO take out healthy minerals too?
Yes, it removes most dissolved minerals along with the things you don't want. Food supplies most of the minerals you take in, not water. If you prefer a mineral taste, we can add a remineralization stage.
Do I also need a softener?
Not always. When water is very hard, a softener protects the whole house and extends the life of the RO membrane. When hardness is moderate, RO alone may handle your drinking water.
How do I maintain an RO system?
Plan on swapping the sediment and carbon cartridges once or twice a year. The membrane goes a few years, depending on how many minerals your water carries. We show you how to make the change yourself and which spare parts are worth keeping on hand.
Can RO water go to my fridge?
It can. We can run a line from the system to the fridge dispenser and ice maker, and many people do it to get rid of cloudy ice.
Will it fit under my sink?
Most kitchens have enough space, garbage disposal and all. In a tight cabinet, a tankless unit or a tank set off to one side usually solves it. We look before we give a price.
